An isolated link has emerged today connection Spurs with Manchester City’s fringe midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim. A Norwegian international, Ibrahim has been with the Premiership side since 2010 but in that period has only made three senior appearances at the club.

Loan spells have taken the player across Europe – from Holland to Scunthorpe but once again, the 22 year old has failed to make an impression and while he has been capped at every conceivable youth level, Ibrahim has yet to feature for the full Norwegian side.

Despite this record, there are claims that both Spurs and Arsenal, together with a host of other Premiership clubs, are set to battle for the player’s signature this summer. Ibrahim has one year left on his contract and the feeling is that City are ready now to cash in.

Three years ago, Ibrahim was being billed as a teenage prodigy and we’ve seen a few of those at the Lane who have subsequently failed to make it. We could be wrong, but this doesn’t seem the most likely or the most exciting rumour to appear in recent weeks.
