Spurs head coach Andre Villas-Boas has been speaking to the press for the first time since the 2012-13 season came to an end and while he hasn’t touched on the subject of a possible move across to PSG, the boss has only commented in positive terms about the season ahead.

One of the issues for AVB will be to keep Gareth Bale in the squad amidst borderline tapping-up from Real Madrid and the Portuguese is confident that the Welshman will be back at the Lane ahead of the new campaign.

“We have the pledge of the chairman that Bale is not going to leave the club,” Andre is quoted as saying.

That’s all that’s been said on the matter so far but that won’t stop the speculation in the press during the coming weeks. It’s tempting to ignore those stories but this is the first time that the Head Coach has commented for some time so it’s worth repeating ahead of the media frenzy that will undoubtedly follow.
