Brazilian International Paulinho was finally unveiled as a Spurs player on Saturday morning after passing a medical at the club and we’re excited to have him here. As soon as the deal was announced, the 24 year old spoke about the season ahead and how he intends to make an instant impact at White Hart Lane.

“First, I want to thank Tottenham for believing in me,” Paulinho said on the club’s official website.

“I am very happy and excited to have joined Spurs. It’s a huge pleasure for my career to be at a club as big as Tottenham. I know it will be a huge challenge but I think I can help all my colleagues to succeed and give a lot of happiness to the supporters.”

The midfielder is also looking forward to linking up with his international team mate Sandro in a league which he has admired for some time now.

“We used to watch the Premier League in Brazil – including Tottenham – and this club has big players,” he added.

“I just want to help them to succeed here. It’s nice to have another Brazilian in the squad and I’m excited to meet with Sandro and all the players.”

There’s still no confirmation on the length of contract but Paulinho is finally confirmed as our first signing of the summer. Question is, who will follow him?

  1. This guy is a gamble but must mean that we are planning to spend a good bit of money this off season. With the appointment of baldini I wouldn’t be surprised if we chase another 3 or 4 players. We clearly need forwards so it will be interesting and exciting to see what’s gonna happen. To be linked with david villa is truly exciting given the goals he brings to any team he plays for. Bring it on levy back AVB and bring us glory next year plus FFS get rid of hudd, Dempsey , Parker and Livermore.
