The new Premiership campaign is less than three weeks away and although some fans are still impatient over the lack of a new striker at White Hart Lane, it’s actually quite unusual for Spurs to have tied up two major transfers before July is out.

The possibility of adding to our list of failed deadline day deals is therefore fading but for those still feeling a little anxious, Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas has some reassuring words.

“We will continue to do our market and we have not stopped yet, for sure,” Villas-Boas said.

No names or positions were mentioned in the interview but a much needed swoop for a striker is likely with reports continuing to link the club with an improved offer for Valencia’s Roberto Soldado. Club President Amadeo Salvo is keen for those that have expressed an interest to declare their intentions.

“The message we have to give is that we need tranquillity,” Salvo said.

“If Soldado leaves in the near future, near to the end of the transfer window, we will have to find a replacement.”

The transfer fee in question may end Tottenham’s quest however and Salvo has said that the cash strapped club won’t let their financial situation be taken advantage of.

So we welcome our new recruits and the question after AVB’s comments is ‘who’s next?’

  1. I hope we can sign Soldado and to be truthful we really need another striker im hoping we can sign 1 of the following Burak Yilmaz or Neilton , Higuine, Osvaldo but we are running out of time quickly. BIG WISHES

  2. We better secure soldado or levy will have egg on his face after missing out on so many strikers maybe Remy as the second striker if he not in jail by then.

  3. Yilmaz and damiao please. But if I had to pick one it would be yilmaz hands down and then soldado. If we did get soldado it would be a wise move. The guy is an intelligent poacher….aka lineker and klinsmann. He will score a lot of goals

  4. c’mon! all want more goals fight! top four premiership crown! like jackson martinez neilton mestzk christian benteke alvaro vadillo alen halilovic jese rodriguez youth! ker-ching! Tottenham Hotspur 1882 outlaws casuals – yid army!

  5. I think it will depend on how much we end up paying for soldado as to whether we sign a second striker or anyone else for that matter. If we can get him for closer to £20 million then I’m sure levy will see that as good business and be willing to sign a supporting striker such as remy (court case permitting) however, if we end up paying whst valencia seem to be holding out for at £25 million then I can’t see any further dealings in this window…not that we really need it but it would be nice. I was hoping from the start for us to make a move for fabio coentrao at LB to replace bae although he now looks to be staying. Yhe only people I can see leaving are parker and hudds who have effectively already been replaced by paulinho and sandro coming back from injury
