Spurs head into the final three days of the transfer window but after a hectic summer saw seven new arrivals at the club, January looks like being a barren month. Head Coach Tim Sherwood has spoken about the situation on a number of occasions and yesterday he emphasised that he doesn’t expect any business to be done.

“In all seriousness, we are not actively looking. Unless something drastically happens with the squad between now and Friday, then it will be,” Sherwood told the Daily Express.

“I’m happy with the squad. We brought in seven players and I trust the players to take us forward until the end of the season.”

However, when asked about possible departures, Sherwood gave the biggest indication that Etienne Capoue and Lewis Hotlby (pictured) would be allowed to leave the club.

“Possibly, but I’m happy with the squad of players we have got. If they leave, then they will have my blessing,” Sherwood added when asked about the two is question.

“I like Holtby – he is one of the best trainers we have got. They want to play and you have to be fair to the player. You need to do what is best for the club.

“Capoue is also a good lad. He’s not given me a moment’s problem. If the opportunity arises, then we will let them move on.”
