Tim Sherwood has named Tottenham’s starting XI for tonight’s Europa League tie with Benfica and the one real surprise sees Harry Kane partner Emmanuel Adebayor up front with Roberto Soldado remaining on the bench.

Hugo LLoris starts in goal in a side captained by Younes Kaboul. The line up reads

Lloris; Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Naughton; Lennon, Paulinho, Sandro, Eriksen; Adebayor, Kane.

And our substitutes tonight

Friedel, Fryers, Rose, Bentaleb, Chadli, Townsend, Soldado.

What do you think of Sherwood’s selection – is it enough to take a healthy lead to Portugal in a week’s time?

  1. It could be a massive mistake to start experimenting with the strikers at this stage of the season and against the likes of a tried and tested Euro team.

  2. Harry is a real handful, quick strong and skillful with a decent shot, but he doesn’t have an amazing goals record. I think he could be a perfect partner for Ade though, they are both a centre-half’s nightmare

  3. Harry Kane, a real handful, REALLY, this is grown up football,
Let’s keep our 26 million pound striker on the bench??????
