Spurs are without Vlad Chiriches, Michael Dawson, Erik Lamela and Etienne Capoue for Sunday’s visit of Southampton although Tim Sherwood did announce that Younes Kaboul, Emmanuel Adebayor and Mousa Dembele could all be back in contention.

Defence is the real problem area for the side right now so surely Kaboul will be rushed in if he has a chance but there was no news on Kyle Walker who also missed Thursday’s tie in Portugal.

Ade is set to replace Roberto Soldado if the manager decides on playing just one striker. We’d prefer to see a 4-4-2 and this line up but we’ve left out Nabil Bentaleb so straight away it looks like we’re going to be wrong.

  2. Vertongen is not injured, he was unable to play against Benfica due to yellow cards. Lloris was rested, as was Paulinho, Kaboul and Adebayor. Chadli was good vs Benfica, whereas Soldado terrible again. Would give 442 with Ade/Chadli upfront.

  4. If you’re gonna play 2 strikers I think Kane showed on Thursday night who should be the no.2 right now! I stopped backing Soldado months ago, he’s nearly 29 and he’s shown no signs of real quality. A few neat passes and average finishes is not real quality. I’d play with Ade up top by himself with Townsend, Bentaleb, Dembele, Eriksen with Sandro sitting in behind to stop Lallana from getting space between the lines, you stop him and you stop Southampton. And agreed on the back 4, Fryers impressed me Thursday and should be given the chance to follow that up!

  6. Soldado should not be ahead of Kane anymore, he’s playing so badly and doesn’t deserve league starts right now. We should play Ade with Chadli behind, Lennon and Eriksen on the flanks, Sandro and either Bentaleb or Dembele in midfield.

    Hate to see eriksen play out wide, he has to be given free space in the middle. Would love to see rose attack down the left with chadli cutting inside. The beast guarding defensive line

All u guys are mental having Lennon in your team, I wonder if spurs fans will ever wake up, I know what you think he helps defensively but he’s not strong enough to tackle all he does is cover and he can get in behind the opposition but then their is no end product, please wake up how can u not see he is useless

  12. I would play this team as we definitely need a big prescience in the middle of the park.

    Bring Townsend on when they are tired
    Bring Rose on when they are tired
    Bring Bentaleb on for Sandro second half when he’s been booked.
    Bring Soldado on to switch to 4-4-2 if we are losing

    Don’t like Naughton , I always get a feeling we have a weak team out when I see his name on the team sheet.

  13. I agree with the line-up shown, Soldado always plays better when alongside someone else he is not a lone striker. Chadli had a good game against Benefice and he will probably be buzzing to back out there and carry on his good performance. The one thing i would probably do is play a diamond formation in the middle.

  17. Stop playing eriksen out wide it won’t help the team put him in the middle behind ade 4-4-1-1 like the old days with vdv bale and modric.

  21. Can someone please tell me why Soldado keeps popping up in people’s teams? He’s f***ing b***ocks! He wouldn’t even score goals in the championship! As soon as Kane replaced him we played sooo much better because we had someone who can actually hold the ball up and bring others into play!
