French International striker Loic Remy has been linked with a number of Premiership clubs as his stint at Newcastle draws to a close and any interest will have been heightened with the news that the player himself has ruled out a permanent move to St James’s Park.

Remy has scored 13 goals in 23 league games this season – one of those coming at White Hart Lane and if he can do that in an underperforming side, is he worth a shot at a top six club?

There are no official quotes from the striker although a number of sources quote that he has told club officials he won’t be staying after the end of the campaign. That does leave the possibility of a return to QPR but that’s likely to be dependent on the West London club coming through the play offs and reclaiming a slot in the Premiership.

That’s obviously a possibility but even if Rangers do go up, Remy and his team mates will probably be battling it out at the wrong end of the table and the 27 year old is unlikely to settle for that. Spurs and other sides could give Loic Remy the chance to achieve greater things but is he the man we need?
