You could argue that Tottenham’s only successful purchase this season came from Ajax where Christian Eriksen has proved to be a relative bargain at around £11m. Any transfer speculation depends on the manager’s position but a new man may find it logical to return to the Netherlands and make offers for some of the Dane’s former team mates.

Davey Klaasen is an attacking midfielder who has flourished since Eriksen left but the two have played together and could reform to good effect at White Hart Lane next season. Louis van Gaal has just given the 21 year old Klaasen his first full international cap and while Ajax are said to be working on a new contract, the attraction of Premier League football might make their calculations irrelevant.

The other interesting player is Daley Blind who is 24 and has been with the Amsterdam club for the whole of his professional career. Even the most inexperienced manager can see that there is a desperate need for a quality left back at the club and Blind could well fit that bill.

There have been no strong rumours over Daley Blind – only speculation such as this but the pair could contribute to a former Ajax core that can take the club forward after a forgettable campaign.

  1. Come on Levy back the supporters, give us our stadium, a decent manager, left back, cb, lw and a striker such as remy, benteke or likaku and we will be flying next season and play the football we all want to watch… coys.

  2. I agree, we need deffenders and strikers, Lukaku’s proven in the PL. We need a new manager + a new captain. I’d make Sandro captain, at least he bloody gets stuck-in.Vertoghen seems not to care, shame, because he’s very skillful.Lennon seems to have slowed down and Dawson’s got worse and worse. Naughton and Rose total washouts. Roll-on summer, this season’s been too embarassing to bear.
