On Monday we looked at Tom Carroll’s performance for QPR against Nottingham Forest and argued that it was the best piece of weekend action from a Spurs fans point of view. Tom set up the first three goals for his loan side and many of us are hoping that the 21 year old comes back to White Hart Lane and gets a chance to establish himself in our own first team squad.
That was certainly the aim of the player himself as he spoke to the press,
“I want to make it at Tottenham, that’s my main aim. I’ve been there since I was eight so it’s obviously a club close to my heart,” Tom said.
“I’m contracted at Spurs and it’s down for the two clubs to talk. QPR’s a great club and I’ve enjoyed my time here, so we’ll see what happens.”
Carroll’s future could very well depend on what happens at Loftus Road over the next few weeks. Displays for QPR have suggested that he is too good for the Championship but if Rangers come up via the play offs, they will have more appeal if he is surplus at Spurs.
If Harry’s team stays down, that must surely mean an automatic return to White Hart Lane so perhaps there’s more than one reason why we should all hope that QPR miss out on promotion.
