There’s no official word from the club as yet but if you are an avid follower of Sandro’s very active Social Media accounts then you’ll know that our reserve goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes looks to be on his way out of the club.

“I would like to thank this amazing professional,@hdgomes but most important, this amazing man for everything he has done for me during these 4 years! Today it was his last day, but I’ve gained a brother for the rest of my life! I will truly miss you… Obrigado IRMÃO,” Sandro declared along with an accompanying Instagram photo.

The Brazilian stopper joined us from PSV Eindhoven in 2008 – way back in the days of Juande Ramos and he quickly became a fans favourite during warm ups and due to his celebrations with supporters. Gomes remained number one under Harry Redknapp but the manager’s patience finally snapped after a number of high profile errors. Tim Sherwood and Andre Villas-Boas both ignored the keeper who was farmed out at the end of last season to Hoffenheim.

If the departure is confirmed, Heurelho Gomes leaves after 97 league appearances for the club and we wish him all the best in his search for a new club and some regular game time.
