Since returning from his loan spell at Aston Villa three seasons ago, Kyle Walker has been Tottenham’s first choice right back and while Kyle Naughton has been retained as cover, there has never really been any serious competition on this side of the defence.

That could change in the summer however as Mauricio Pochettino takes a look at his new squad and the papers claim that the Argentinian is lining up Feyenoord’s Daryl Janmaat as his first acquisition. Jamnaat is 24 and has been named in Louis Van Gaal’s squad for this summer’s World Cup where he will be hoping to add to his tally of 12 international caps.

This isn’t a new link and it first appeared back in April when we suspected that it had only arisen with Van Gaal favourite to take over at Spurs.

Whether there is truth in this story or not, many feel that Walker should be under serious pressure at right back but do we need a new signing or does Ryan Fredericks have the qualities to make a breakthrough in 2014-15?

  1. we should sell gulfi , naug, ekotto liver, maybe lennon , and get in new, bertrand or davies, inkl dutch right back and some left winger

  2. Walker is better than Daryl Janmaat. He will only be an unhappy back up. The weak link is at LB and while Rose offers pace going forward we need another option, preferably someone who is experienced and can defend.

  3. Rose is just like what they grow in? Shit!!!! Walker is our main rb and a lb is a must in order for us to move forward.

  4. im sorry – walker looked good under redknap – but since then he’s been average at best. competition is healthy
