For Spurs fans who aren’t necessarily concerned about England’s progress, it’s been a fairly quiet World Cup so far. We’ve seen around an hour of Paulinho and another 90 minutes of Hugo Lloris while it’s easy to forget that Cameroon’s Benoit Assou-Ekotto is still on the books.

All that will change in a couple of hours however as Belgium take on Algeria with the possibility that we could see four Tottenham players on the pitch during the 90 minutes. For the Belgians, Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen will be hoping for a start while Nacer Chadli is more likely to wait his turn on the bench.

Opposing them is Nabil Bentaleb who will be pressing for a starting slot in what we are told is a very underrated Algerian side.

Four years ago, Algeria held England to a 0-0 draw in South Africa but Jan Vertonghen insists that his team are prepared.

“We know Nabil, who could play for Algeria, and he’s always said they have a very good, strong team,” Jan said.

“I know one or two of their players and where there are Belgian national team players who know Algerian players, they always say that the Algerian team is strong.

“We have to be careful, but our coaches have analysed them and we’ll be prepared.”

Whatever happens, there is finally some added interest from a Spurs’ fans point of view but which of our four players will make the biggest impact on this tie?
