Spurs in for Griezmann?

by Matthew Harris on July 17, 2014

Along with a host of other clubs, Spurs have been linked with a move for France World Cup Winger Antoine Griezmann amidst reports that the 23 year old has a £24m buy out clause in his current contract. The winger has been with current club Real Sociedad for his entire professional career but some positive displays at the 2014 World Cup have brought him into the spotlight.

Griezmann is a powerful winger with pace and an accurate cross but he also supplies goals. 49 in 179 league games have been supplemented by three in eight for the French national side.

It all sounds great until you hear that Chelsea, Monaco, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been linked. Stranger things have happened but we can probably file this one away immediately.

We need to do everything in our power to sign this kid,
Imagine him eriksen lamela in a 4-2-3-1 as the 3.. That’s not only top 4 that’s pushing on further especially with how young they are

I hope spurs can get him, sell Saldado,Ade,Dawson, get a left back Marcos Rojo,Griezmann,Hernandez, but like spurs they’ll leave it till the last day,and not sign any1,other teams will always b ahead(play champions league)teams are signin A.Sanchez,L.Shaw etc,if they do sign any players I hope they are decent players not half decent, guess when spurs finish 5th or 6th,the spurs supporters this side(South Africa)will be crying again, make us proud and win something this season please

The way i see it we need 3 players for sure, CB , LB, CF, i really hope we get atleast 2 of these signing in early then us fans can relax a bit and watch the squad take shape. Greizmann or any other LM is not a priority but is definatley another area we could strengthen in. Id love to see Davies, Stones and Bony in, Lennon Dawson siggursonn Soldado Capoue out. , KEEP THE FAITH, COYS

Would be a great signing! Attacking and young front 3 with bags of potential. 4 signings I think could turn spurs into a massive threat. CB : Howedes or Alderweireld, LB Daley Blind, LM Griezmann CF Jackson Martinez . Those players with ones already have then would be an interesting season…..

Would be an amazing coup but I think he’ll end up at one of the Champions League clubs.

Why not go for Balotelli? I’m not sold on Griezmann and for a few million more (with the sale of Ade or Soldado) Spurs could get a player that is a proven quantity in the EPL and an impact player. With an in-form Lamela, Eriksen at his usual good self, and Balo up front, this could be potent front line.
