While we await news of any new arrivals – Ben Davies and Michel Vorm in particular – Tottenham’s new head coach Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the press and while he expects one or two new additions, the manager is, on the whole, happy with what he has got.
The Argentine got his first real look at his men in Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Seattle Sounders and was clearly impressed by what he saw then, and in training.
“We are very pleased with our squad,” Pochettino said.
“The club made a big investment last season and we have an unbelievable squad.
“We always need to improve and it is possible we will add some players, but there will not be many changes.”
As we’d come to expect, it doesn’t seem likely that we’ll get anywhere near the mayhem of last summer but just who will the new manager bring in? Clearly he’s in no particular rush…
The current squad then needs to be transformed into a much more athletic outfit than the current if we are to achieve something this season. I agree that names added to the squad do not mean a thing unless the present suad raises it’s game to compete in the BPL.
Naughton, dawson, kaboul, bae, sandro, paulinho, sigurdsson, adabayer, soldado, capoue to out for Sergie aurier, benatia, veltman, schenderlin, james maccerthy, rodwell(on loan), griezmman, adem ljalic, destro, jay rodriguaz
Still need a new CF and a CB. Rose, Dawson, Paulinhio, Siggy, out,
two more defenders, thats all! he’s right we have a squad that needs time, but we need a solid back line as that takes the pressure off!
