Transfer rumour has been surprisingly quiet of late but with just three weeks left until the transfer window opens again, the stories should start to pick up from this point onwards.

One report doing the rounds this morning involves Celtic defender Virgil Van Dijk who it’s thought could be available next month for a fee of around £10m. The 23 year old has been at Parkhead since 2013 and although there are obvious concerns of anyone switching from the relatively comfortable ride offered by the SPL, there are successful precedents in Victor Wanyama and Fraser Forster.

It’s also claimed that Spurs could have competition from Arsenal for the Dutchman’s signature and the stories also pre-suppose that the Vertonghen exit is a done deal. So there’s a long way to go with this one but expect this to be the start of a long seven weeks of transfer gossip.

  1. This is one player Spurs must go and get, he is one of the best centre backs I’ve seen in ages, he makes very few mistakes and can also play with the ball. Mr Levy make it happen.
