Considering that Spurs are up against a League One side in the Capital One Cup and a Premier League side in the FA Cup, you could be forgiven for assuming that they’d field their stronger side against top flight opposition.

Yet with a trip to Wembley so close in the League Cup, normal rationale has been skewed. Key players like Harry Kane are set to be rested again and we think that the side will probably look something like this.

  1. Vorm
    yedlin dier kaboul rose
    dembele paulinho
    Lennon onomah chadli

Kane / Erikson as subs for 2nd half to for win. Put effort towards cap one cup and euro.

  2. A lot of the selected players are injuried. fazio, lamela, chiricades so that team isn’t realistic.
As we are at home, as it is the least priority cup and as it’s against a relegation contender who will have their own concerns I say go really attacking while resting as many first teamers as soon and give fringe players a chance, 442 and go right at the from the start. If we lose we lose, nothing lost but none of last patient stuff where we could get another replay.
    Yedlin. Kaboul-dier-rose
    Soldado and Ade.

Really go for it, all creativity coming from the wings and crossing into the strikers can win it with paulinho also liking balls coming in from the wide areas.
The perfect opportunity to play and everyone gets a rest or plays. Remember even with this team is packed with internationals

  3. ………………Vorm………………….

    Yedlin Dier Vertonghen Davies

    …….Chiriches Mason……..

    Lamella Paulinho Lennon

  4. Vorm
    Yedlin, Dier, Kaboul, Davies
    Mason, Dembele,
    Lamela, Onomah, Townsend

Some youth, some back from injury but mainly second string players in positions where they are comfortable… Kane, Eriksen et Al, on the bench if we need more fire power second half…

Stambouli on for Mason after 60 mins to avoid injury…

A lot of the selected players are injuried. The last report I saw yesterday everybody is fit – only Chadli and Bentaleb are missing.
