It’s fair to say that Emmanuel Adebayor is unlikely to ever write a book detailing his thoughts on how to best make friends and influence people.
Both Spurs and Aston Villa fans alike have been worrying over the amount of time it’s taking for his supposedly ‘imminent’ move to be announced and it’s now been revealed that the striker is refusing to move to Birmingham, instead preferring to commute from London. Here’s how supporters of both clubs reacted to the news on Twitter.
Emmanuel Adebayor's move to Aston Villa is off as he does not want to move to the Midlands. (Birmingham Mail) pic.twitter.com/Uatb9pK0N3

Adebayor's reasons for not joining #AVFC? He doesn't want to live in the Midlands & is not up for a possible relegation battle. That's poor.

I appreciate all you've done at Spurs but please go to villa now @E_Adebayor – Birmingham is a nice place to live. You'll love it.

@E_Adebayor ill drive u to Birmingham and hang around and drive you back if you want? Pay me £1000 a week and I get to keep the car at w/e?

I for one would be very happy if Mr adebayor stays in London and does not sign. He would be trouble #avfc

Adebayor thought Aston Villa were willing to relocate the entire club to London. That's where the confusion has come from.

Adebayor turns Villa down because he doesn't want to move to Birmingham. Didn't he grow up in Togo?

Hope Adebayor doesnt change his mind about #avfc. We dont need his disruptive attitude: better off without him.

Much like @FoxNews, @E_Adebayor is afraid to venture to #Birmingham. I really wish he would give it a go. #COYS

He is like a blood sucking parasite we just can’t shake off
