With the games coming thick and fast Mauricio Pochettino has rotated his Tottenham side, who are still competing in three competitions.
Danny Rose and Kyle Walker replace Ben Davies and Kieran Trippier for Spurs’ trip to Manchester City. Dele Alli returns to the side too, with Nacer Chadli relegated to the bench.
Perhaps the biggest talking point is the inclusion of Heung-Min Son as opposed to the hard working Erik Lamela.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to all the team news.
#THFC team: Lloris (c), Walker, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Rose; Dembele, Dier; Eriksen, Alli, Son; Kane #COYShttps://t.co/82ap7eV0vb

Only mildly surprising call is Son playing and not Lamela – but this is the team I would have picked. https://t.co/fVlG55WdVD

Probably would have started Lamela over Son tbh

Wimmer aside, and the usual Davies/Rose & Lamela/Son debate, that's our strongest team. Let's do this! #COYS

A great @SpursOfficial line up. A must win game. #COYS

City a completely different side with Kompany and Silva. Confidence that team will have with those in a huge difference.

Poch has selected the more mobile/quicker players in the areas where there was question marks. Son > Lamela. Rose/Walker > Davies/Trippier

Best possible team Pochettino could've picked minus Vertonghen who's injured of course.
Now to do the job in hand.
Believe Spurs!#COYS

That looks like he right team to me. And the most positive selection. #COYS #MCITOT

That team eh? Fuck me. He picked him and didn't pick him or that one. #COYS

#thfc City's team looks very strong but I imagine there are some question marks about fitness of Kompany and Silva. https://t.co/yj0wtrKiZa

Bar De Bruyne that's arguably City's strongest starting 11. All their big hitters start ? Big test for Spurs!
— Kenny Palmer (@KennyPalmer) February 14, 2016
Strong #MCFC team. Might depend on level of Kompany's fitness but clearly looking to be more solid with Fernando/Fernandinho both starting.

I reckon this is the right team to face City. Because Poch picked it and he knows more about it than me. Or you. https://t.co/NZTfQuRFED

Kompany & Silva back in the squad looking 2 make a statement 2night. #THFC need 2 be focused. 3 points are still up 4 grabs, no fear! #COYS

If Son starts, he needs to work harder on his offensive as well as his defensive qualities. He needs to fall back and help to contain the Man C midfielders. Pellegrini is putting out a very strong 5 across midfield team and we might be outmuscled by them there in that middle of the park. I hope very much and I believe Dembele and Dier will shut out their midfielders. I have very high hopes on Dembele as he is the one who stablises our ship and keep us going forward. Be careful our full backs need to keep an eye on their fast pace wingers especially Sterling on the left wing play. FOCUS please COYS!!!
