There has been a lot of talk this season as to whether Spurs will eventually run out of steam, as their hard-working style catches up with them in the later months.

Tottenham fans will be delighted to know that the stats show no sign of the team slackening. In fact, they appear to be getting even fitter as the season goes on.

The following table shows the amount of km run by Premier League teams this season and Spurs are in second place behind Bournemouth.

Bournemouth 3169.5
Tottenham Hotspur 3126.0
West Bromwich Albion 3031.5
Manchester United 3018.1
West Ham United 2991.0
Leicester City 2985.9
Arsenal 2982.0
Southampton 2972.5
Crystal Palace 2971.2
Watford 2966.7

This is an impressive enough statistic, but it looks even better when you focus on the games played in 2016. Tottenham have now overtaken Bournemouth to become the Premier League team that covers the most ground. Here are the average km covered per game in 2016.

Tottenham Hotspur 117.74
Bournemouth 114.61
Liverpool 113.44
Manchester United 112.89
Arsenal 112.05
Sunderland 111.87
West Bromwich Albion 111.23
Leicester City 111.16
Everton 110.99
Norwich City 110.82

That average of 117.74 is up from the 2015 average of 114.94, showing that Spurs are actually getting fitter rather than slowing down.
