Not so long ago it looked as if Jamie Vardy was nailed on to become the Premier League’s top scorer this season, but Harry Kane has slowly but surely made his way past him.
Kane’s brace against Bournemouth took his season’s tally to 21. That’s the same amount that the England striker scored last season in the Premier League, despite there still being seven games to go.
With Kane in such hot form it’s anyone’s guess as to how many goals he’ll eventually score, in a season where he is comparing favourably to some of the best forwards playing in Europe.
Only seven players in Europe’s big five leagues have scored more goals than Kane. As you’ll see from this list of the current top ten scorers, Kane is mixing in some seriously deadly company.
Remember those days when we’d be praying for the club to sign that elusive ‘world class’ striker every summer? Turned out we had one right under our noses.
