Sky have reported that Napoli want to sign the Tottenham youngster Alex Pritchard.

It is claimed that the Serie A giants are looking to bring Pritchard to Italy on a permanent deal, with two unnamed Premier League clubs also said to be in the hunt.

Rated at £8m, Pritchard was set to get his big chance at Spurs last season after a successful loan spell at Brentford. Unfortunately he suffered an early injury that ruled him out for the early months of the campaign.

A January loan to West Brom seemed to offer Pritchard the chance to prove himself in the Premier League, only for the diminutive playmaker to be offered few opportunities by their long-ball merchant manager Tony Pulis.

Having qualified for the Champions League, Tottenham are in a very different position than they were in at the start of last season, when there would have been plenty of Europa League for the 23-year old to play in.

Pritchard’s opportunity seems to have passed him by, but if Napoli’s interest proves to be true it goes some way to demonstrating the potential of the player.
