Tottenham sealed a £30 million deal for midfielder Moussa Sissoko on deadline day, and Hugo Lloris has finally had his say on the transfer.

The Spurs and France captain, currently on international duty despite being injured, told reporters Sissoko’s arrival is “very good for Tottenham.”

In quotes published by The London Evening Standard, Lloris said: “He is very powerful and I think he is a different profile of player for us, so he will give us another option offensively.

“The good thing is that he’s played in the Premier League for a while so he knows the competition well and he’s a high-level player because he’s played for the national team too.

“I think he’s the kind of player that can help the team to achieve good things and, for sure, he will adapt quickly to our philosophy and our style.”

Sissoko has been criticised for a poor attitude over the years at Newcastle, but hopefully the influence of his countryman Lloris will help him to settle under Mauricio Pochettino, who is known to have little patience when players step out of line.
