Spurs finally landed the midfielder the squad needed when Moussa Sissoko moved from Newcastle on deadline day. The club have long been in the market for such a player and one who has long been linked with a transfer to White Hart Lane is Sissoko’s international colleague Adrien Rabiot.

The Paris St Germain starlet has been consistently rumoured to be a target for Tottenham during the Pochettino era and Rabiot seems keen to return to the England.

Now 21-years old, Rabiot had a spell at Manchester City as a youngster, before moving to PSG. He’s admitted that he plans to one day come back to the Premier League.

“I really liked my time in England and the life there, even outside of football.

“I told myself that I will return one day. I have always had the desire to play in England, it is in me. The Premier League… that is football!”

Despite admitting that he yearns for a return to England, Rabiot is first looking to establish himself with the French champions.

“I want to prove this season that I can be an important player for the team. My ambition is to establish myself as a starter at PSG and I think that with that, international recognition with France will also come.

“Of course I am very happy at PSG and I would like to stay for a long time, to grow with the club and to become captain of the team one day, but we cannot predict how things can turn out.”

With competition fierce at PSG, we shouldn’t rule out Rabiot making a move to the Premier League, sooner rather than later. If that time comes while Pochettino is still at the club, it seems a good bet that Spurs will be in the market for the French international.
