After a busy and successful summer with Wales at Euro 2016, Ben Davies has yet to make an appearance for Spurs so far this season.
With the team about to embark on a busy period of fixtures, Davies will surely see some action soon and on the evidence of his performance for Wales tonight, he will be up to the challenge.
Davies impressed as a central defender as Wales beat Moldova 4-0 in their first World Cup qualifier. Normally at left-back at club level, Davies was suspended for Wales’ semi-final defeat to Portugal at the Euros and his return received many plaudits tonight.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to his classy display.
Good win there without hitting the heights of France. I really like the look of Ben Davies, very accomplished #WALMOL

Irrespective of Moldova's lack of attacking threat; Ben Davies was superb. Really is one of Wales most important players.
