It looked as if Sunderland were going frustrate Tottenham at White Hart Lane with both sides goalless going into the final half hour.
But two-season wonder (or is it three-season now?) Harry Kane broke the deadlock on 59 minutes to the relief of the Spurs faithful.
The hosts had created plenty of chances but it seemed like one of those days as a number of opportunities were either wasted or saved.
Fortunately, a mistake from a Sunderland defender gave Kane the chance to open the scoring, and he did so with ease from close range.
