Early signs were promising for Tottenham in their crucial Champions League clash with Monaco. They started well and should have been ahead through Heung-Min Son, who missed a huge chance in the opening stages.
But Spurs’ fortunes quickly took a turn for the worse, or so it seemed. Monaco were awarded a penalty when Eric Dier was deemed guilty of tripping an opponent in the box.
The in-form Radamel Falcao stepped up only to see his spot-kick superbly saved by Hugo Lloris.
