Despite a good start at Stamford Bridge, Tottenham threw away a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 against Chelsea, a defeat that marks the end of Spurs’ unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men were the better side in the first half and took advantage of their strong start when Christian Eriksen lashed home a cracking opener on ten minutes.
Pedro equalised just before the break with a goal of similar quality before Victor Moses bagged the winner early in the second half.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the result and performance.
44 great minutes, one mistake and we never recovered mentally. A lot of really good young players in our squad who need to grow up #THFC

Unbeaten run was nice record but a lot of draws tainted it. Decent performance 1st 45 – hopefully it's a wake up call to start winning more.

Tottenham unbeaten record goes in a match that was a Bridge too far.Spurs on top until Moses left in the wilderness to create winner #CHETOT

Really disappointed. Thought we would get pumped but instead we just gifted it to them, they didn't have to do anything to win it. A gift.

Things we learned today. Wimmer isn't a full back. Dier isn't a centre back. We will never win again at Chelsea. We need to buy quality.

Much better performance. Difficult with injuries, suspensions and lack of form. Need to kick on next week. GKN needs to start. #coys

Could do with Toby and Lamela back ASAP

Played with a lot more urgency & intensity 1st half than in recent games. Nice cameo from GKN. Should have killed the game 1st half.

Gutted with that – leaves a bad taste in my mouth losing to Chelsea.. however, we move on. Need solidity now with Toby, Rose coming back..

Played really well so not too disappointed. On the plus side, Alderweireld and Lamela should be back next week. #COYS

We'd have won that game with Rose and Toby. And they'll be back very very soon. #COYS

Look fella’s, get real. We were never going to win this game, no matter how well we played. We have no world class players, except Lloris. And we do not have a leader anywhere in the team. And we never will, until the penny finally drops with Levy, that we have to pay what world class players are worth. The Aguero’s, Hazard’s, Ozil’s of this world, earn twice as much as we are ready to pay. Until we offer the same, and can entice such players to The Lane, we’ll continue to be in the shadow of the top four!!
