Mauricio Pochettino gave his press conference today, ahead of Sunday’s match with Burnley.

First up for Poch were some questions regarding the change in formation in to three at the back, which we saw for the second time this season in the midweek game against Hull.

Pochettino was asked whether the formation could be successful long-term and how it benefits Christian Eriksen, who scored two goals against Hull.

There was also some analysis of Eric Dier, where his best position is and whether he could be a future Spurs captain.

Watch the full press conference below.

  1. I think we are still a team that needs to score a goal before we settle down.
I think Delle Alli is very much a work in progress.
I think Winks needs to start tomorrow.
I think we should continue with three at the back when playing at home especially if it speeds up our transition out of defense.
So will Poch drop Alli or Sissoko when Lamela returns (will Lamela return?) or will he sacrifice Wanyama or Winks to make room for both Sissoko & Lamela (3-3-3-1) or will Eriksen be the fall guy (3-4-2-1)?
There’s a lot of options out there but I don’t always see the players who perform on match day starting the next game…..!
