Reports claim that Tom Carroll is closing in on a move to Swansea from Spurs.
The fee is said to be in the region of £4.5m to £5m, plus bonuses. Tottenham were said to be looking for £12m for the homegrown midfielder, but it seems likely that they’ll have to settle for less.
That said, it’s the latest in a growing number of transfer fees received for academy products, in what is fast becoming a reliable source of income for the club.
Should the deal go through, Carroll will embark on his second spell at Swansea, having spent the 2014-15 season there on loan.
