Yep, another midfielder is being linked with a move to Tottenham.
After suggesting Spurs are interested in former Liverpool midfielder Suso, The Mirror is now reporting that Tottenham are ready to make an offer for Real Madrid outcast Mateo Kovacic.
The Croatian midfielder has struggled for game time in the Spanish capital since joining Madrid at the beginning of last season.
The report suggests Kovacic has a buyout clause in his contract of £21.8 million, but his current employers are willing to listen to offers of around £17.5. It’s likely Daniel Levy will be keen to bring that figure down even further.
Kovacic, 22, was seen as one of the world’s biggest talents before his move to La Liga, impressing for Serie A side Inter Milan prior to signing a six-year contract with Real Madrid.
If Spurs signed him, he would primarily offer competition for Mousa Dembele in the deeper midfield band. Alternatively, he could be pushed further forward to challenge for Christian Eriksen’s place in the side.
Sign him up now!!!
If we go for him, and it is a big if,, there is no way he will be good enough to depose either Dembele or Eriksen, he will only be a backup at best! but I suppose at 22, he could develop into a good team member
Georgeful that is why if we moved for him he could be a great add to the team. The sort of player the team (manager,DL and the board) like .He is young ,willing to learn and has room to improve .Sign him if possible i say .
Take Isco too, lets go for it next season.
I agree with you Tony, get Isco and even try and get Morata. I’m sure Isco would sign for £95k a week which Sissoko is currently earning.
How on earth he’s on that wage I don’t know!
