The Sun claims Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to take Eric Dier to Old Trafford, and is willing to pay £40 million for his services.
After impressing in the centre of Tottenham’s midfield last season, Dier has struggled to make the same impact this term, losing his place to Victor Wanyama.
The 23-year-old is clearly trusted by Mauricio Pochettino, who has changed his system to accommodate Dier as a third centre-back.
Despite being an England regular, Dier has received mixed reviews this season. But personally I’m baffled so many Spurs fans would be happy to see Dier to leave the club.
The versatile youngster has been a key part of a Tottenham team that has made a huge step up in terms of challenging for major trophies under Pochettino.
His mixed form is primarily a result of his versatility — many are still unsure about where exactly Dier should play.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the rumours.

People wanted Dier to be dropped from the starting XI and now they don't want him sold for 40m+. Make your mind up! #thfc https://t.co/ZlWGGGumYo

Why would Dier take a step down and join a worse team?
Manchester United want £40m Eric Dier https://t.co/hNRz9hX5Oo

Dier isn't a good CB & 4th best CM at the club. It's easy to get romantic about it, but business is business. I'd bite your arm off for £40m

So with kane and Dier going Utd, Walker and Rose going City and Dele going Madrid, Spurs are really gonna struggle next season ?

£40m for Eric dier I'll drive him to Manchester myself ??

It is not hard to see the Manchester clubs as spoiled brats sucking their thumbs and wailing “I want, I want, I want—” If you list the Spurs players they “Must ” have over the last couple of years it is almost the whole team. Lloris, Rose, Walker, Dier, Ali, Kane, Alderweireld. At the end the conclusion has to be tough luck guys carry on sucking
This is the Sun ‘newspaper’ that reported this… which automatically confirms it as a pile of shit.
If the Sun reported that today was Wednesday, I would go and check elsewhere.
It is produced by idiots for idiots.
I couldn’t agree more with DaveN. The sun, mirror, daily star are stuffed full of idiots masquerading as journalists ITK. Trouble is, there plenty of dunces who can barely read and write who believe them and unfortunately, some of those dunces write for other news outlets and blogs.
In addition, a few short weeks ago, Jose the chosen one stated publicly that he can no longer raid Spurs because they are now very strong and a totally different animal to when red nose Sir Alex plundered the club of the services of Carrick and Berbatov 10 years ago. Similarly Arsenal when he himself lured Ashley Cole to Chelsea.
In order for players to be sold, they have to want to leave and angle for a way out, note Modric and Bale. Do any of you remember their antics? Back then, Spurs were easy game.
The urchins in the low class no class rags haven’t moved on from those eras where THFC are concerned and are always selling Spurs players off in their fabricated articles, it’s a weekly occurrence for these idiots and I have no doubt they will continue right into next season.
What a load of ballshit, why would Dier go to what is now a lower club dream on !!
Dier has very good qualities and is forever improving and will continue to improve with experience and by working within this team of young warriors. He is strong and aggressive, good on the ball and will get better. We are building. Why would we sell, albeit for a very good return, and risk not being able to replace him with someone better? Selling Eric Dier would seem to me to be non-sensical. We must add to our strengths in this rebuild not weaken it. In my view Sissoko, Jansen and N’Koudou are surplus to requirements as is Lamela, if the stories are to be believed. Wimmer, I’m afraid must also go, as much as I thought he played well in Vertonghen’s absence last season. Pochittino has a vision. It is imperative our scouts find the right players and allow Pochittino to analyse and choose who best fits the bill. I believe Dier fits this bill from the start and from the bench. At DM or at the back. His versatility is his strength. Definitely an asset. Anyway, it must now be more satisfying to play against him than to play for him. COYS!
Anyway it must be more satisfying playing against Jose than playing for him. Edit to my last line

Very good blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you advise starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for
a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely
confused .. Any suggestions? Cheers!
