It’s not often a footballer crosses the Tottenham-Arsenal divide. William Gallas was the last player to do so, joining Spurs on a free transfer in 2010.

If the rumour mill is to be believed, another Arsenal defender could be on his way to Tottenham. According to The Daily Mail, Mauricio Pochettino is monitoring Calum Chambers, who is currently on loan at Middlesbrough form Arsenal.

Chambers played under Pochettino for Southampton, but both player and manager exited the club in the summer of 2014.

The 22-year-old mostly played at right-back for Pochettino’s Saints, but since joining Arsenal he has primarily been used as a centre-back.

Perhaps Pochettino is looking at Chambers as potential cover, or competition, for Eric Dier on the right side of a back three. Chambers can certainly play a bit, as the video below demonstrates.
