After the departure of recruitment head Paul Mitchell, Tottenham appointed Steve Hichen as the club’s new chief scout and it looks like he is currently setting his sights on some potential summer signings.

One of the most exciting targets is RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita. The 22-year-old scored his seventh league goal of the season on Wednesday evening as Leipzig beat Mainz to strengthen their hold on a Champions League place.

Keita has also managed eight assists in the Bundesliga this term. The central midfielder has been linked with a summer move to Liverpool, but now it seems Mauricio Pochettino is interested in bringing the player to London, according to The Mirror.

The Guinea international was hospitalised after collapsing after a game against Wolfsburg last month having suffered circulatory problems. Fortunately he made a quick recovery and was only in hospital for one night.

Spurs will be keen to strengthen their squad in the hope that next season’s Champions League campaign goes better than this season’s. Keita looks like he would be a fine option.
