A deal for Galatasaray winger Bruma to join Tottenham is thought to be close to completion, according to ESPN.

Earlier this month, Galatasaray released a statement denying Bruma’s imminent exit following reports that suggested a £12.5 million fee had already been agreed with Spurs.

A story from Turkey claimed Bruma would only sign a new deal with his current employers if his current wages were doubled, and he would move to Tottenham if his demands were not met.

Despite Galatasaray’s denial, it seems there was a hint of truth in those reports. ESPN have now revealed a source has told them Spurs have been locked in talks to sign Bruma since January, and the transfer is set to happen this summer.

The 22-year-old will have just 12 months remaining on his current contract at the end of the season, so Tottenham will be confident of securing a cut-price deal for the Portugal under-21 international.

Bruma has provided eight goals and eight assists this season and is enjoying his best campaign to date in Turkey.
