Tottenham are set to miss out on Galatasaray winger Bruma, according to reports in Portugal.

Bruma has been linked with a summer move to Spurs numerous times over the last few weeks. The last we heard, the 22-year-old’s agent claimed Bruma had been offered a new contract by Galatasaray.

That contract was expected to include a £21 million release clause, a fee Tottenham would have been willing to meet.

But Bruma’s new deal failed to materialise, and reports in his native Portugal suggest he is set to join Bundesliga club Red Bull Leipzig.

Portuguese publication Record claim a fee of £15.6 million has been agreed between the clubs and Bruma is set for a medical next week.

Leipzig are believed to be willing to treble the winger’s current weekly wage, something Spurs would have perhaps found difficult to do.

It’s important that Tottenham now turn their attentions to other potential attacking targets. Monaco’s Thomas Lemar has been linked with a move to North London.
