Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has admitted Tottenham target Keita Balde Diao could leave the Italian club before Thursday’s deadline.

Last week reports suggested Spurs had cooled their interest in the Senegalese forward.

But with talk of the club targeting a player who can add to pace to the attack, Tottenham could go back in for the 22-year-old.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Premium Sport (spotted by Inside Futbol), Tare responded to reports claiming Inter Milan are close to agreeing a deal for Keita.

“It is still not a conceivable deal as they [Inter] are still far away from what we expect,” said Tare. “Monaco also returned for him and there are other teams as well.”

He added: “I don’t know whether he will stay as it’s difficult to answer that at this moment. He has a contract with Lazio and grew up here so we would like him to respect that. But until 31st August, we’ll see what happens.”
