Tottenham have made contact with the agent of Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes over the possibility of a January deal, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
Spurs tried to sign Gomes on loan and then permanently on deadline day but failed to get a deal over the line.
The 24-year-old isn’t believed to be in Barcelona’s long-term plans, and he could be allowed to leave the La Liga giants in January.
His agent is Jorge Mendes, who is apparently trying to sign Dele Alli up as a client.
Juventus are also thought to be keen on Gomes, so there could be a fight for his signature. It’s all merely speculation for now.
When I see reports of interest in Gomes, as well as Barkley, when we already have Dier, Dembele, Wanyama and Winks, it seems we would be overstocked in those central midfield positions and the future looks bleak for Onomah…
