On Wednesday it will be a year to day since Erik Lamela last played for Tottenham.
The Argentine underwent surgery on both hips earlier this year and has only just returned to full training with the first team squad.
He had been expected to play a part against West Ham in the EFL Cup this week, but Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he does not know when Lamela will be ready to feature again.
“He’s doing well but he’s not available.,” said the Spurs boss. “After a year [out], I cannot say tomorrow, one week or one month.”
It raises the question: will Lamela play for Tottenham in 2017? Right now, it’s unclear.
In better news, Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele could be fit to start on Wednesday.
A London derby awaits!

I think he’d struggle to get in the premier league or champions league 11. Domestic cups when/ if he does come back.
It depends how well he adjusts when he eventually retiurns. He is clearly a very good player and if he plays well he will get game time. He also offers something different and on his day,he is a real handful. I wish him well.
