Zinedine Zidane believes Tottenham were the better team in the victory over Real Madrid at Wembley.
Spurs stunned the European champions, beating them 3-1 thanks to a Dele Alli double and a Christian Eriksen strike.
Asked if Mauricio Pochettino’s side have a chance of going on to win the competition, Zidane said: “Any team can win the Champions League and Tottenham are certainly one of them.”
He added: “Ultimately we came up against the better team who put in a better performance on the night and that’s what we’ve got to accept.
“We came up against the better team today and I mean that in terms of all aspects of the play because Tottenham were superior.” (Quotes via @GeorgeSessions.)
He’s right – Spurs were better in just about every department and fully deserved the victory.
“It’s a big victory for the club, the fans and the players,” said Tottenham boss Pochettino. “I’m very happy for tonight.”
