Jan Vertonghen has recovered from a foot injury and will be fit to face Arsenal in the North London derby this weekend.
The defender felt pain in his ankle last week while training with his national side. As a result, he was forced to sit out of Belgium’s against Mexico.
But Belgian football journalist John Chapman (spotted by Football.London) has revealed Vertonghen will play for his country against Japan on Tuesday evening.

The news comes as a huge relief to Tottenham fans, who feared Vertonghen would join his countryman Toby Alderweireld on the injury list ahead of Saturday’s huge game.
Vertonghen has been one of Spurs’ very best performers so far this season, and his presence could be a crucial factor against Arsenal on Saturday.
