Federico Fazio says he doesn’t know why Tottenham sold him.
The defender spent 18 months at Spurs before re-joining his former club Sevilla on loan in January 2016.
A few months later he was loaned to Roma before eventually joining the Serie A side permanently.
“Tottenham? I played 33 games in my first season with them. After that the president wanted to change I don’t know why. I spent six more months there but I had already decided to leave,” he told Corriere Dello Sport (via Calcio Mercato).
“England is different, there is not much tactical work and when you go out nobody knows you. Passion for football is different, Italians are more similar to Argentines.”
Fazio has done well in Italy but he was desperately poor at times for Spurs, who haven’t missed him.
