Two years ago today, Dele Alli scored a memorable volley against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

It was arguably the goal that confirmed the youngster’s emergence as a potentially world class superstar.

Alli collected the ball on the edge of the penalty area, flicked it over the head of an onrushing Palace player and smashed it past the goalkeeper. It was a truly special goal.

The 21-year-old has struggled for consistency this season, showing glimpses of brilliance from time to time – his double against Real Madrid, for example.

You can relive Alli’s wondergoal against Palace below. Enjoy.

He was noted for his versatility and goal-scoring ability, especially when he played as a second striker.
