Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Toby Alderweireld isn’t fit enough to return for Tottenham’s Premier League meeting with Manchester United on Wednesday.
The Belgian has returned to full training following a three-month absence with a hamstring injury, but the United game comes too soon.
There is better news, however. Hugo Lloris, Danny Rose, Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela will all return to the squad after missing recent matches through illness and injury.
Rose’s return is particularly welcome – there were fears his knee injury would be another long-term one, but he is apparently fully fit.
