Ben Davies says Tottenham are “very confident” ahead of their FA Cup semi-final meeting with Manchester United.

Following their 3-0 quarter-final win at Swansea last weekend, Spurs will face United at Wembley next month for a place in the final where they will meet either Chelsea or Southampton.

Tottenham were taken to replays by lower league sides Rochdale and and Newport County in earlier rounds, but their convincing victory over Swansea proved they are serious about winning silverware this season.

And Davies insists Spurs are confident they can overcome United to book their place in the final.

“I was a bit late finding out the draw as I was on the flight when it was made,” Davies told Sky Sports.

“It will be a bit strange (in the away dressing room), but we’ve played there enough this year that it’s going to feel relatively like a home game.

“We played well against United earlier in the season, so we’re very confident going into the game.”

Davies has every right to be confident considering Tottenham’s last meeting with United at Wembley – Spurs eased to a 2-0 win after Christian Eriksen had given them the lead inside 10 seconds.

After an edgy start at the national stadium, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been consistently excellent at Wembley over recent months, securing memorable victories against the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Having somewhat of a “home” advantage gives Tottenham the best possible chance of reaching the final, but Jose Mourinho has an impressive track record in knockout matches.

That said, United were dreadful in their Champions League defeat to Sevilla earlier this month. But that embarrassment could increase their motivation to win the FA Cup.
