Harry Kane has hit such heights that it’s difficult to imagine he was once a young striker struggling to break through at Tottenham.
But former Spurs attacker Rafael van der Vaart has provided a stark reminder of those struggles.
The Dutchman has been reminiscing about his time at Tottenham, and he was keen to mention Kane’s early days training with the first team.
According to Van der Vaart, Kane didn’t make the best start to life among Spurs’ senior group of players.
“He is so s*** – he can’t control the ball”, Van der Vaart claims to have told a teammate at the time.
