Lucas Moura put in a performance of the highest quality as Tottenham beat AS Roma 4-1 in their first match of the pre-season campaign.
The Brazilian scored twice to add to Fernando Llorente’s early double, giving Spurs a 4-1 lead by half-time.
There were no goals in the second half, but Moura continued to impress with a man of the match display.
After struggling to break into Tottenham’s first team last season following his January arrival from PSG, perhaps Moura will be given more of a chance this season.

Lucas is like a new signing. Even better since he’s already settled into the club. He’s surprisingly good with his link up play and looks a real threat.

This could be the signing that we overlooked. Has had enough time to learn the system and get to know his teammates. The other Premier teams have not really faced this guy as he has taken time to fit into our style of play. Was great last night and showed his class.
On a sour note who in the hell is this low rent defender from an eighth placed team in La Liga that we are now supposed to be chasing after. Are we that desperate?? Guess we are…….
Lucas will become one of the most gifted players to have ever pulled on the Lilly white shirt, he reminds me of elements of Gazza, Ginola and the incredible Jurgen Klinsman. His speed, trickery and amazing passing insight along with his extreme work ethic and passion for beautiful football will see him become a fan favourite for years.
