Napoli are considering a move for Tottenham defender Serge Aurier, according to reports in Italy.

Aurier arrived from Paris Saint-Germain last summer and endured a mixed debut season in England.

The right-back scored twice and put in a few good performances but was heavily criticised for his rash decision making throughout the campaign – Kieran Trippier was often preferred to Aurier in the starting line-up.

As a result, reports earlier this summer suggested Spurs would consider offers for Aurier despite the fact he only arrived a year ago.

And now, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Napoli might be interested in taking Aurier away from Tottenham.

New Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti is apparently keen to add another right-back to his squad, and Aurier is said to fit the bill.

However, it’s difficult to see a deal going through with just a week left until the Premier League’s transfer window closes.

Aurier is likely to be given another season to prove himself to Mauricio Pochettino.

Meanwhile, right-back Kyle Walker-Peters has been linked with a move away from Spurs on loan.
