Hugo Lloris could return from a thigh injury in time to play for Tottenham against Huddersfield Town on September 29th, according to reports in France.

That’s despite the club ruling him out for “several weeks” on Thursday.

Lloris missed the defeat at Watford with a thigh injury and was subsequently absent for France’s games during the international break.

Some reports suggested he might return for Saturday’s clash with Liverpool until Spurs revealed their prognosis.

However, French outlet L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) claims Lloris could be back in training on Monday September 24th, making him available for the trip to Huddersfield on Saturday September 29th.

If true, that will come as welcome news to Mauricio Pochettino and the Tottenham fans.

In his press conference on Thursday, Pochettino revealed there were never any plans to strip Lloris of the club captaincy following his drink-drive charge.

The Frenchman was fined £50,000 and handed a 20-month driving ban in court on Wednesday.

Michel Vorm will almost certainly deputise for Lloris against Liverpool this weekend – check out our full predicted XI here.
