Oliver Skipp made his first-team debut for Tottenham on Wednesday night, coming on for the final few minutes of the 3-1 victory at West Ham United in the EFL Cup.
And for a matter of seconds, the 18-year-old wasn’t only making his debut; he was captaining the side.
Skipper Christian Eriksen likely forgot to hand the armband to a senior player as he was being substituted, so he tried to place it on the arm of young Skipp.
Both players saw the funny side, but Skipp was having none of it. The teenager ran on and handed the armband straight to Victor Wanyama.
